NADCAA has joined forces with Green Futures a community organisation based in Newton Abbot, dedicated to working with local people to improve our levels of wellbeing, grow our green economy and take care of our natural environment.
They are developing a range of projects and services for people from all sections of the community, to improve our own lives and that of our planet together.
The work of their staff and volunteers in the environment, has resulted in the creation of an online ecosystem that replicates the importance of the connectivity we all share with the land that we work with and on.
They are currently working on the –
A broad-based, citizen science initiative, the purpose of which is to engage with local residents in the Bradley Barton and Bradley Valley neighbourhoods in Newton Abbot.
They will “bee” measuring insect numbers to give a baseline reading from which they can chart their success in restoring insect populations and biodiversity.
One of their key services is Ways into Work , where they help people who are unemployed due to mental and emotional health issues, to gain the skills and the self confidence to step back into work.
They are also offering local landowners a reliable and affordable Land Management service which is focused on restoring natural habitats and improving levels of species biodiversity.
Our Landlords, Newton Abbot Town Council, are really excited about this partnership and it is important therefore that we all try and support Andrew and his team in any way we can. He has asked if we could circulate the following questionnaire to enable him to gather information key to some of the work that he and the team at Green Futures need to help them plan going forward.
